Use TimeZest for sending meeting invites

If a user has already provided us with the date/time they want to meet, it'd be great to let TimeZest still send the meeting invite directly from CWM. The 'send meeting' function in CWM is NOT user friendly.

It would allow to inject the Teams invite also instead of having to do a copy/paste of a generic Teams URL.

What about using the "Where" field? If a schedule record is created in CWM using the Where of "TimeZest", then TZ can see this and send the confirmation email, just as if a client selected the time via TZ.

If it can't be done in the CW Pod, could a link be shown in the Pod to Time Zest where we could specify the time and date for the meeting. The link would contain the ticket information to link back to. Just a thought...

This would be really helpful. The biggest reason for cancellation, missed appts. or users double booking themselves is it not showing on their calendars.

As a comment to Jason's comment below, is it not possible to just limit what the client sees when choosing a schedule with a tech. If the tech specifies date and time for the appointment, can the date and time choice page that the client sees reflect only that option(s). The filter when displaying availability would look at the calendar as it does not but would then look at the entered constraints to only present the desired times. This, I think preserves the exiting TimeZest mechanism and doe not require the API mentioned below.

This is unfortunately quite difficult, as ConnectWise Manage doesn't actually have an API for external software like TimeZest to create meetings or meeting invites (instead of ordinary schedule entries). We're aware of the problem, and are thinking about it, but we don't have a solution yet.

Jason Langenauer: Why would the CWM appointment need to be a Meeting Invite. Just make it a regular schedule record, just as TZ does now. How about in the TZ pod, there's an option to send meeting invite for existing schedule record. When selected, you can then choose which existing schedule record to use, who to send it to, and optionally, generate a Team/Zoom meeting for it.
If you can't read existing schedule records, then give the option to pick the date/time in the TZ pod and then TZ will send the invite and create a normal schedule record like it does now.

Jason Langenauer: We don't need it to action the built-in CWM meeting system (especially given most of us are using TimeZest because that system is terrible).
What we need is the ability to send an invite for [x] day at [y] time that is logged and actioned via TimeZest so it updates the ticket - not the engineer's calendar directly - so users don't email me instead of replying to the ticket.
Effectively, what we need is exactly the same flow as if an end user had selected a date/time from the TimeZest portal themselves.

Jason Langenauer - Adam Burley said it perfectly. An interface for our staff to preselect the time on the Tz invite. That is all. Nothing else to change. Don't think you'd even need to update the api role in CW PSA, just need to n add the feature to the Tz pod ui
